Quick examples
When you need numbers in words
Legal contracts, cheques, invoices and formal documents often require amounts written in full to prevent tampering. Bank drafts, receipts and international wire transfers are typical examples. Academic writing sometimes requires numbers below a certain threshold to be spelled out rather than shown as digits. This tool handles both cases instantly.
Decimal support
Enter a decimal number such as 3.14 and the tool reads the decimal portion digit by digit — "three point one four" — which matches the conventional spoken form used in finance and science.
